Arthur McMahon and Rory Kennedy have joined forces to establish Smart Renewables – a sustainable energy solutions company that helps businesses save energy and money.

These two gentlemen are no strangers to the energy business and have been friends and business colleagues for many years. Rory Kennedy a well known Rally Co-Driver in his own right both locally and internationally is a former owner and MD of OBT Heating who specialised in Heating and Plumbing supplies and installations based in Co. Donegal.

Rory built the company to become market leaders across the region over 25 years. The business evolved with the ever changing market from Solid Fuel to Oil and Gas, and then in more recent years, with the onset of renewable energy such as Solar and Air/Ground source Heat Pumps. Rory has been involved in managing many complex fast track commercial projects, where missing the deadline wasn’t an option!

Rory also worked with Bassetts / Saint Gobain as a business development manager for over 10 years, which involved establishing the brand across the region, developing the market, as well as managing a core team.

Arthur McMahon and his team run Donegal Oil Company. A well known, reputable and long established fuel and lubricants distributor based in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal with depots in Killybegs and Falcarragh.

His business is active in all sectors of the fuels market and they have a long established reputation for integrity and service. Arthur who is also a motor enthusiast and in recent years an accomplished outdoor endurance athlete, competing both locally, nationally and globally and he has also has been fascinated by the gradual shift in the energy market towards fuel efficiency and renewable energy technologies and he has been taking his current businesses on their own energy journey in recent months.

So, it’s no surprise when these two gentlemen decided that the renewable energy market would be the next phase in their business careers.

Their vision is all about taking their commercial clients on an “Energy Saving Journey” by offering their clients the full energy saving packages available in today’s market.

Their services start with an initial consultation and assessment of the individual needs of their customer then providing them with Energy Monitoring, Auditing, Energy Brokering, Supply and Installation of LED Lighting, Solar Thermal, Solar PV, Smart Heating Control Systems, Air Source Heat Pumps, Electric Vehicle Chargers and Industrial and Commercial Heating Solutions.

They are keen to work with businesses who are serious about reducing their energy consumption, costs and carbon emissions through the delivery of energy saving projects and initiatives.
