Finn Valley’s Arlene Crossan leaps her way to American scholarship

Finn Valley AC hurdler Arlene Crossan leaves Ireland tomorrow to take up a scholarship at West Texas A&M University.

The 18-year-old Letterkenny native had originally planned to go to the University of New Mexico in the autumn, but will now take up residency in Canyon, Texas.

Crossan – pictured by Kieran Carlin – will become the seventh Finn Valley athlete to take up a scholarship in America.

Last summer, Crossan won the Irish junior 400m hurdles and competed at the European Under-20 Championships in Italy.

Crossan, coached by Shauna Carlin at Finn Valley, has also competed in the European Youths and the World Junior Championships.
