Barry Doherty was tonight returned for a second year in charge of Donegal SFC champions Kilcar.

Doherty, who succeeded Martin McHugh on the eve of the 2017 campaign, agreed to take on the role again at the club AGM in The Parish Hall, Kilcar.

Doherty, a former Kilcar player, was a late appointment, but he was at the helm as the Towney men bridged a 24-year gap.

Kilcar overcame Naomh Conaill in the 2017 Donegal SFC final having been beaten by Glenswilly in the 2016 decider.

Kilcar also won the All-County Football League Division 1 title in 2017.
