Catherine Grier and Irish team qualify for European Championships

Catherine Grier and the Irish Deaf Women’s Futsal Team are on their way to the European Championships.

At this weekend’s qualifiers in the Netherlands, the Irish team managed to get through their group and book a spot at the Championships.

Silly Rovers woman Grier scored in a 3-3 draw with the hosts, Netherlands, and was named as the Player of the Match from that game.

A subsequent ankle injury ruled Grier out of action.

And while Ireland lost heavily to Germany and Denmark, Dave Bell’s team overcame Italy 6-2 this afternoon to secure qualification.
