The Donegal Person of the Year for 2017 is to be announced in the coming days.

The latest recipient of the prestigious award is to be announced in a week’s time on Friday, January 19th.

The current Donegal Person of the Year is well-known Ardara community activist Stephen McCahill.

The awards, which are run by the Donegal Association Dublin, have become one of the highlights of the annual social calendar for Donegal people.

The announcement of the Donegal Person of the Year 2017 will be made from 6.30 pm in The Black Door, 58 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2.

Donegal Daily will carry full details of the event on the night – including the identity of the winner!
