Former Donegal minor boss Sean Paul Barrett set to take up club role

Former Donegal minor manager Sean Paul Barrett is set to move into club management.

Barrett had been in the mix for the Donegal senior and under-20 roles this winter, but the Milford man missed out.

Now, it seems as if Barrett is poised to take over at Termon.

Barrett won the Ulster Minor Championship and League double with Donegal in 2016, but his side were beaten in the Ulster MFC opening round by Antrim last year.

Barrett was interviewed for the senior job, with Declan Bonner appointed there, while Gary McDaid was favoured for the under-20 job, a decision that considerably irked Barrett at the time.

Now, though, Barrett is being tipped to take the hotseat at Termon. The Burn Road outfit finished in sixth place in the All-County League Division 2 last year.

It is believed that Burt were also keen on Barrett’s services.
