Donegal Death Notices – Rest in Peace

Donegal death notices for today, Friday, January 19.

 

Maeve CANNON
The death has taken place in the Donegal Hospice of Maeve Cannon, Ballyness, Falcarragh. Former national school teacher. Beloved daughter to Brian and Chris, loving sister to Eimear, Roisín, Brian and Diarmuid. Deeply missed by all her family, work colleagues, friends and past-pupils.

Maeve’s remains will be reposing at her family home in Ballyness, Falcarragh from 5pm this evening Friday 19th January. Rosary tonight at 9.00pm. House private from 11pm until 11am. Removal from the family home going to St Fionan’s Church, Falcarragh for 1pm Requiem Mass on Sunday 21st January with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, Donations in lieu, if desired, to Donegal Hospice c/o Mc Clafferty Funeral Directors, Gortahork or to any family member.

 

Elizabeth (Lily) WYATT
The death has occurred of Elizabeth (Lily) Wyatt, Drumgornan, Ballydevitt, Donegal Town, Donegal.

Reposing at the family home from 12 noon to 5pm today, Friday. Removal from the family home at 6.30pm to St. Mary’s Church, Killymard for 7pm. House private for removal. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if so desired, to Donegal Hospice. One-way system in operation from old Ballydevitt school. Exit at Orbeg to Killymard.

 

Michael TRAVERS
The death has occurred of Michael Travers (Clontarf and formerly of Ballyshannon, Donegal) January 17th 2018 (peacefully) surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Anna Connolly; loving father of Sinead, Hugh and Una; Brother of John, Anthony, Pauric, Mary and the late Eamon. Sadly missed by his sons-in-law, Kevin and Grant, daughter-in-law Claire, grandchildren Roisin, Doireann, Caoimhe and Rua, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at home today, Friday, from 5pm to 9pm. Funeral on Saturday in St Gabriel’s Church, Dollymount at 10.30am with burial thereafter at Balgriffin Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to St. Francis Hospice, Raheny.

 

Jim MCLAUGHLIN
The death has occurred of Jim McLaughlin, Quay Street, Moville, Donegal / late of Kingsfort, Derry.

Reposing at his home. Removal on Saturday, 20th January, at 10.30am for 11am Requiem Mass in St. Pius X Church, Moville with burial afterwards in the City Cemetery, Derry at approximately 1.30pm. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Dementia Research. Family time from 11pm to 11am.

 

Anna MCHUGH (née Boyle)
The death has occurred of Anna McHugh (née Boyle) Weir Road, Tuam, Galway / Glencolmcille, Donegal.

Anna; Beloved wife of the late Jimmy. Sadly mised by her loving sons Jimmy, Kevin, Martin and Michael. grandchildren Kieran and Zara, brother Jo Jo, sisters Mareet, Teresa, Angela and Catherine, daughter-in-law Jane brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, and friends.

Reposing at her home on Saturday from 5pm until 8pm. Removal on Sunday to the Cathedral of the Assumption for Mass at 12.30pm. Funeral afterwards to Tuam Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to Tuam Cancer Care.

 

Paddy DOHERTY
The death has occurred of Paddy Doherty, Upper Dromore, Letterkenny, Donegal.

Reposing at his late residence. Removal on Saturday, 20th January, at 12.15pm to the Church of the Irish Martyrs for 1pm Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in Conwal Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Intensive Care Unit, University Hospital, Galway.

 

Sally DEVLIN
The death has occurred of Sally Devlin, Tullagh, Clonmany, Donegal.

Removal from Donegal Hospice took place yesterday to her late residence. Removal on Saturday morning, January 20th, at 10.30am to St. Mary’s Church, Clonmany for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the Donegal Hospice or the Nazareth House, Fahan. Family time please from 11pm to 10am.

 

Francis DANKS CAMPBELL
The death has occurred of Francis Danks Campbell, Donegal.

Reposing at his daughter Joan Quigley’s home at Crehennan, Quigleys Point from Friday evening, January 19th. Funeral on Sunday, 21st January, at 2.30pm in St. Finian’s Church of Ireland, Greencastle with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

 

George CONAGHAN
The death has occurred of George Conaghan, Munterneese, Mountcharles, Donegal at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Funeral Mass today, Friday morning, at 11am at Church of the Sacred Heart, Mountcharles followed by burial in Frosses Old Graveyard.

 

Sean CALLAGHAN
The death has occurred of Sean Callaghan, Finabanes, Donegal Town, Donegal, peacefully at University College Hospital, Galway.

Reposing at his late residence in Finabanes from 12 noon until 10pm today, Friday. Removal from his residence on Saturday morning at 10.30am for 11am Mass in St. Agatha’s Church, Clar with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. House private on Saturday morning please. Family flower only. Donations, if so desired, to Donegal Community Hospital Patient Comfort Fund.

 

Joseph MULHREN
The death has occurred in Dunbar, Scotland of Joseph Mulhren of Glasserchoo, Gortahork. Survived by his four brothers Michael, Barney, Miles, Charlie (Mulhren Memorials, Carrigans) and sister Ellen.

His remains will arrive at Christ the King Church Gortahork today Friday the 19th between 6.30pm and 7.00pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
