There were plenty of new faces on show as Finn Harps began their pre-season campaign

Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan continues to run the rule over some trial lists as he prepares for the 2018 season.

Harps played their first pre-season friendly of the year on Saturday as they lost 3-0 to Cork City at Abbotstown and will take on Bohemians this Friday in Dublin.

On Saturday, Harps had a look at Sligo Rovers U19 player Mark Hannan as well as imports Sandro Rodriguez, Timothy Roberto and Raul dé Silva.

Eric Whelan, who spent some time at Dundalk, was in the Harps XI, as was Mark Coyle.

Cockhill Celtic attacker Coyle is expected to sign on at the club for 2018 as is Letterkenny Rovers left-back Lee Toland.

Both players have previously been on Harps’ books.

Another man who could be set for a return to Harps is St Johnston man Shane Porter. The defender, on the books at Dergview, is in training with Harps and bidding to win a deal.

Keith Cowan made his long-awaited return to action on Saturday, while new signings Sam Todd, Jesse Devers and Ciaran O’Connor were all in from the off with Aidan Friel among the substitutes.
