The Michael Murphy-managed LyIT were 1-8 to 0-5 in front at the break and cruised through the gears in the second half.
Darragh Black – who scored a hat-trick for the LyIT soccer team in a 4-0 win over Carlow in their League quarter-final on Tuesday – netted again today.
Donegal senior panellist Darach O’Connor was also on target with a goal for LyIT.
The Port Road students advance to meet Mary Immaculate in the semi-final in two weeks’ time.
