Huge coup for Finn Harps as Michael O’Connor makes loan move

Michael O’Connor’s loan move to Finn Harps has been confirmed.

The Shamrock Rovers striker, who had been in line for a €70,000 move to Rotherham United last month, is moving to Finn Park on a short-term loan until the summer initially.

The 19-year-old was courted by Premier League Burnley in the autumn, but no move materialised.

Rovers are keen for the player to get regular first-team action and his capture represents a significant coup by Harps manager Ollie Horgan.

“I’m now looking forward to my loan move to Finn Harps and helping them get promoted to the Premier Division looking forward to it and can’t wait to get going,” the player said in a tweet announcing the move.
