Aodh Ruadh’s Colm Kelly came on as a second-half substitute as NUIG overcame UCC at the Mardyke today to reach the Sigerson Cup semi-finals.
Kelly was brought on in the 52nd minute as NUIG won 1-9 to 0-7.
Brian Donovan netted in the 17th minute for the victors.
Donegal midfielder Caolan McGonagle lined out for DCU, but they lost out 0-16 to 1-9 to UCD this afternoon.
Diarmuid Murtagh goaled for DCU, but UCD, helped by five points by Evan O’Carroll, took the win.
Yesterday, Eoin McHugh, who recently announced that he was taking a year out from inter-county football, scored a point as Ulster University, Jordanstown defeated University of Limerick 4-6 to 0-11. Four Masters’ Daire Quinn lined out for UL.
