Listen: Delight for Maxi Curran as Donegal ladies keep winning and learning

Maxi Curran says the Donegal ladies have already achieved their objectives in the Lidl Ladies National League Division 1 campaign.

A 1-7 to 1-4 win over Monaghan in Clones today saw Donegal move onto five points and firmly in the shake-up for the knockout phase.

After an opening day loss to Dublin, the All-Ireland champions, Donegal have drawn with Galway and now recorded back-to-back wins over Westmeath and Monaghan.

“We’re trying to build,” Curran said.

“There are an awful lot of areas that we have to improve on. We’ll take each game as another step on the progression and another way of learning about ourselves.

“It’s good to get over the line and we’re in a good position League-wise – that’s the main thing. It’s a learning curve and a bedding in process.

“One more win would probably put us in a League semi-final. We have managed to stay there and introduced three or four new players, new methods of play. We’re very happy with it.”
