Watch: Flashmob strikes Seachtain na Gaeilge launch!

Those attending the launch of Seachtain na Gaeilge 2018 in Letterkenny were this morning treated to a special surprise when the students from Gaelscoil Adhmhnain performed a flashmob!

Rang 6 students performed a stunning rendition of ‘Tóg mo Lámh’ to mark the start of this year’s Seachtain na Gaeilge.

The message for Seachtain na Gaeilge is simple, with Seán Ó Daimhín from Oifigeach Seirbhísí Gaeilge in Comhairle Contae Dhún na nGall saying: “Our language is special, speak it and it will live on.”

Seachtain na Gaeilge takes place between the 1st to the 17th of March.

Donegal broadcaster and TG4 weather woman Caitlín Nic Aoidh is one of this year’s ambassadors for the event, and says that she is delighted to be promoting her native language.

Caitlín says: “Mar bhean Ghaeltachta tá lúcháir mhór orm a bheith i m’ambasadóir ar Sheachtain na Gaeilge le Energia.

“Cuidíonn an fhéile go mór leis an Ghaeilge a chur chun cinn ó cheann ceann na tíre. I mbliana tá mé ag dúil go mór freastal ar léar mór imeachtaí, cinn sa Ghaeltacht ach go háirithe!”
