Michael Carroll has become the third player to leave the Donegal senior football panel.

The Gaoth Dobhair man had not managed to nail down a regular berth in Declan Bonner’s team this year so far.

And this morning’s Irish Independent reports that Carroll has followed Eoin McHugh and Peter Boyle in quitting the panel.

McHugh said he was concentrating on his studies at Ulster University, while Boyle confirmed his decision last week to Bonner, citing the potential for limited game time.

Donegal picked up their first League win of the season nine days ago when defeating Kildare at Fr Tierney Park and are back in action on Saturday evening when they take on Tyrone at Healy Park.
