Listen: Benny Bonner aiming big again for on-the-rise Drumkeen United

Benny Bonner is keen for Drumkeen United to make a rapid move up the Donegal League divisions.

St Patrick’s Park, until very recently, was hosting big Ulster Senior League games and Bonner can recall big games, like an FAI Cup clash against Bohemians at Dalymount Park for instance.

Bonner’s Drumkeen defeated Letterbarrow this afternoon, Michael Guthrie’s hat-trick helping them to a 4-1 win.

Drumkeen look destined to win Division 2 – and Bonner is more than happy with his lot.

We want to move up where we belong,” he said.

“I think we have a team here to compete in the Premier Division.

“We weren’t at our best, but it’s about getting results and hopefully the title is on the way. All we can do is look after ourselves and it’s our’s to lose. We’ve been very good from the start of the season. We have a good mix of players here.”
