Kilcar defeat Cloughaneely in Towney with a goal inside of 10 seconds

KILCAR WON for the second time over the bank Holiday weekend at Cloughaneely’s expense in Towney this afternoon.

Cill Chartha 1-11 Cloughneely 0-8

The home side got the perfect start after only 10 seconds when a high ball in was collected by Paddy McBrearty who found Gary Molloy his attempt was well saved but the ball was clinically finished to the net by Ashley Carr.
Shaun McGarvey hit Cloughneelys first score on 4 mins. Points from Eoin McHugh, Stephen McBrearty and Ciaran McGinley followed in an uneventful opening half which was played with a slight breeze towards Towney Bay. A
Shaun McGarvey free was he opening score in the first minute of the second half, Mark McHugh hit a fine point on 33 mind to put four points between the sides. Shaun McGuire pointed from a free on 35 mins and we had to wait seven mins when Barry Shovlin came up from defense to point.
Two points in a minute from the visitors closed the gap to two points. Both sides exchanged a couple of points each so with seven minutes to play there was still two points in it. Patrick McBrearty got his first point of the game on 55 mins from a free and he followed up with two more in the closing stages while Matthew McClean also scored from a free in the last minute to finish the scoring in a hard fought win for the hosts.
