Another Hollywood blockbuster is to be filmed in Co Donegal this summer.

Donegal Daily can reveal the film will be the latest in the thriller series starring CIA agent Jason Bourne.

The gritty action movie will star A-lister Matt Damon and will be filmed on location at Glenveagh National Park.

Film scouts were understood to be very impressed by the reaction of the cast and crew who filmed the latest Star Wars epic in Malin Head last year.

It is also understood that the makers of the film will be recruiting hundreds of locals as extras for crowd shots.

The working title of the film is understood to be ‘One Bourne Every Minute.’

The series has already produced a number of films in the form of the original ‘The Bourne Identity’ and then follow-ups including ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ and ‘The Bourne Supremacy.’

The original Bourne Identity, which was released in 2002, had a budget of $60,000,000.

The budget for the latest blockbuster to be filmed in Donegal is not yet known.

Filming is due to begin in Donegal in June and the release date has been scheduled for April 1st next year.
