Finn Harps youngster Connor O’Reilly is set to join English Championship side Ipswich Town this summer.

The 16-year-old, who joined Harps from Bonagee United, will head for Portman Road in July after the clubs reached an agreement.

O’Reilly, who has also lined out for Illistrin FC, plays for the Harps Under-17s and has lined out for the Republic of Ireland Under-16s.

O’Reilly has been subject to interest from Ipswich for some time, but the clubs have finally come to a conclusion on the transfer.

“An agreement has now been reached with Ipswich and on behalf of Finn Harps I want to wish Conor all the very best in his ambition to become a professional footballer,” said Harps secretary John Campbell.

O’Reilly will play for Harps in the Under-17 League until he makes the move in July.

His switch comes hot on the heels of the transfers of Marc Walsh to Swansea and Shane Blaney to Doncaster Rovers.
