Letterkenny Gaels start sunflower fundraiser

Letterkenny Gaels hurling club are holding a sunflower growing competititon in order to gain funds for their U-14 team who have qualified for this year’s Feile competition.

The cost to enter a sunflower is €5 and all proceeds will be going to the Leterkenny Gaels hurling club. There will be a multiple array of prize categories ranging from tallest, best name, prettiest, furthest away from Letterkenny, etc.

Entrants have to submit their sunflower pictures by the 15th of September 2018 to sunflowercompetitionlkgaels@gmail.com for judging. Pictures will be uploaded onto Letterkenny Gaels hurling Facebook page as well as their website.

Plants can be ordered via sunflowercompetitionlkgaels@gmail.com and can be picked up and paid at the Letterkenny Gaels club. The plants will also be sold at a cake sale in the church of the Irish martyrs, Gortlee Rd, Ballyraine, Letterkenny on Sunday the 3rd of June.

If you want to participate in the competition but are unable to pick up a plant, you can plant your own sunflower seed and send the entrance fee of €5 directly to sunflower competition, Letterkenny Gaels club, Thorn Road, Glebe, Letterkenny, Co Donegal.
