A talented chowder pro from Donegal Town has won a silver medal for the Best Seafood Chowder at the Annual Great Chowder Cook-Off in Rhode Island, USA.

Mark from Copany, outside Donegal Town, is the owner of the Beara Coast Hotel in Castletownbere Co Cork, and wowed attendees at the event with his incredible chowder.

Mark was crowned as the All-Ireland Chowder Champion in 2017, winning the opportunity to travel to Rhode Island as a guest chef.

Mark travelled to the USA with his partner Mark Golden and served over 7,000 portions of their Chowder at the Cook Off. This was a great achievement for a two man band. The duo will be ever grateful to the eatery ‘Malt on Broadway’ and to everyone for the support and kindness they received.
