Mother and son devastated after losing dog during charity walk

A family have launched an appeal to find their treasured family dog who went missing in Donegal last week.

Gael Bradbury, her son Rafe (12) and Oscar the dog were climbing Errigal on Thursday evening when Oscar broke loose from his lead.

Gael says the Golden Retriever / Red Setter X chased after a crow on Errigal and down the mountain out of sight. He was last seen in Falcarragh and it is hoped that locals may have spotted him in recent days.

The family, who are living in Westmeath, had been undertaking a walk of all the 32 highest peaks in Ireland for several charities when Oscar went missing.

“This was our 4th last and we are devasted to think of having to finish without him,” said Gael.

Oscar is microchipped and wearing a black studded collar with his name and number. A red lead was attached to him when he ran away. He is described as a friendly dog.

Gael and Rafe are hopeful that their beloved companion can be brought home safely. If you have any information, please contact Gael on 0868257484.
