A treasured family dog has been found this weekend after going missing ten days ago.
Gael Bradbury and her son Rafe (12) had been searching for their dog Oscar since Thursday 28th June. The family were on a charity climb of Errigal mountain when Oscar broke loose and ran off.
Their appeal reached towns all over Donegal as locals helped out in the search for the Golden Retriever / Red Setter X. It was announced on Sunday that Oscar was found and reunited with Gael and Rafe.
Gael told Donegal Daily: “We are over the moon. Two Americans found Oscar in the Poison Glen in Dunlewey. He was very skinny but very happy.
“Thank you so much to everyone for your shares and thoughts.”
The Animals in Need Donegal Page has also thanked all who shared the appeal. Hundreds of supporters have expressed their delight that the friendly dog will soon be heading home to Westmeath.
