€166,000 funding announced to improve busy Castlefinn Road

Funding of €166,046 has been announced today for the improvement of N15 National Primary Route at Castlefinn.

This allocation from Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has been much-welcomed, as the main road through Castlefinn has been deteriorating for some time.

Local Sinn Féin Councillor Gary Doherty has welcomed this progress, saying: “I will now work closely with the council and the relevant authorities to ensure that this work progresses.

“This announcement is to be very much welcomed and follows on from representations which I have been making over a number of months now to have this section of road repaired.

“The route is obviously a very busy stretch of roadway and the road surface has deteriorated badly over the past few months, so today’s decision is great news for the town and for everyone who uses this important transport link.”
