Listen: Relegation would have been ‘complete disaster’ says Barry Dunnion

Barry Dunnion says it would have been a ‘complete disaster’ had Four Masters been relegated to Division 3.

Last night, Kevin McBrearty stepped up with a goal, seven minutes into added time, to rescue the Donegal town side from the drop.

McBrearty’s goal gave Four Masters a vital win at Glenfin and it’s Malin who have been relegated.

“We didn’t want to go to Division 3,” former Donegal ace Dunnion said.

“We left it a wee bit late. It would have been a complete disaster if we’d been relegated. There’s a good group of young fellas, but it’ll just take a wee bit of time.”

Four Masters also struck a late goal at home to Bundoran and Dunnion added: “When it has been put up to us in the last couple of games, we have dug in. We’ve been decimated by injuries and have four or five in America. We were left in a difficult situation, but gradually the boys have started to come back into it.”
