Finn Harps ace Ciaran Coll will celebrate the end of his 10th season at the club with a testimonial.

The St Johnston man has made 265 appearances for Harps since making his debut in a 1-1 draw with Kildare County in March 2009, when he was just 17.

Coll signed from his native Kildrum Tigers following a spell in Scotland with Hearts in his teenage years.

The 27-year-old is now 12th on the all-time list of Harps appearances and has scored four goals in his 10 seasons at the club.

“To stay at the club for ten years has been great,” Coll said.

“Finn Harps have been incredible for me over the ten years and I’m delighted to be at Finn Harps. The fans at Finn Harps are amazing and have always given me great support – not just on the pitch but especially when I was out for a few months with a cruciate injury.

“I want to keep going to get further up that appearances board.”

Coll has put together a Testimonial Committee of Joey O’Leary, Denise O’Neill, Paul Byrne, Kevin Connolly, Chris McNulty, Victoria Wilson and Packie Coll.

Two events have been confirmed to mark Coll’s big milestone.

First, on Friday, September 28, a Golf Classic will be held at Ballybofey & Stranorlar Golf Club. Each four-ball team entry costs €100 and will include a food voucher for each playing member of a team.

A timesheet is in operation and entries can be made by contacting Ballybofey & Stranorlar Golf Club on 074-9131093.

On Saturday, November 10, a Gala Dinner will be hosted in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Letterkenny. Tickets will be priced at €40 each. Further details on the Gala Dinner will be released in due course.

The Ciaran Coll Testimonial Committee will also be partnering with local charities, that will be announced in the coming days.

Joey O’Leary, of the Finn Harps Testimonial Committee, said: “On behalf of the Ciaran Coll Testimonial Committee and everyone connected, past and present, to Finn Harps FC, we are delighted to help Ciaran celebrate his Testimonial year with a Golf Classic and a Gala Dinner Dance with a testimonial match to be considered for pre season 2019.

“Ciaran has been a loyal servant of the club since joining in 2009 as a 17-year-old.

“His commitment to FHFC has and continues to be unquestioned and we feel it is fitting that he can celebrate his Testimonial year with a number of events which will also benefit local charities.

“We would encourage the Finn Harps family to come out and support the events to show our appreciation of Ciaran’s commitment to the club.”

Coll follows fellow Harps legends like Peter Hutton senior, Jim McDermott, Con McLaughlin, John Gerard McGettigan, Jonathan Minnock and Kevin McHugh, who have been awarded testimonials.

Finn Harps Chairman Sean Quinn said: “Ciaran has been a terrific servant to Finn Harps over the last 10 years.

“He has always maintained a high level of performance and we hope everyone recognises his loyalty to the club by supporting his testimonial events.”
