The Irish Cancer Society will receive a cheque which is the proceeds from this year’s Relay for Life event, at a special function in Letterkenny’s Mount Errigal Hotel this Friday night.

Up to €80,000 was generated from the annual fund-raiser held in early June representing a massive boost to the I.C.S. and specifically to research projects.

Representatives from the forty teams who took part in the 2018 event, staged at the LYIT grounds, will be in attendance along with survivors and members of the Relay for Life Donegal committee.

The Survivors choir will also perform on the night and an update will be given on the clinical research programme currently taking place at Letterkenny University Hospital.

The Gordy Klatt award, recognising the efforts of an individual on behalf of the Relay initiative, will also be presented on the night.

The presentation function will run from 7.30.p.m. through to 9.30.p.m.
