The public have been warned about the latest scam that is doing the rounds.
Several people have received calls in recent days from a number – 076-8888276 – purporting to be from the Revenue Commissioners.
People targeted are told, via a recorded message, that they are in danger of being prosecuted by the Revenue and to call the above number.
The calls have caused undue stress already to several people and Revenue have urged the public to be aware of the number and not to make the call.
This is the latest in a series of fraudulent calls that have been targeting the public this year.
