Hugh McFadden powered Killybegs to vital win in Milford that preserves their senior championship status for 2019, but leaves Milford in the relegation play-off quick sands.

Milford 0-10 Killybegs 1-10

There were three penalties in the game – with McFadden getting 1-1 from the sport for Killybegs.

The goal arrived 12 minutes into the second half. McFadden won the papally himself as he was taken down and he blasted past Caolan McGettigan.

Midway through the first half, Tony McNamee was fouled and Milford handed a golden chance to get into command, at a time when they led 0-3 to 0-1.

However, Kevin Martin saved Cathal McGettigan’s penalty and Killybegs survived.

The teams were level at six-all at half-time, with McFadden and Ryan Cunningham arching over late points for the Fishermen.

Luke Barrett, McGettigan and McNamee all landed points to give Milford a perfect start to the second half, but Killybegs hit the front when McFadden converted from the penalty.

Milford failed to score for over 20 minutes in the second half and McFadden settled for a point with his second penalty of the night, deep into stoppage time.
