Yvonne Bonner back to give Glenfin a ‘Giants’ boost for Ulster quarter-final

Just three days after being signed by top Women’s AFL side Greater Western Sydney Giants for 2019, Yvonne Bonner will be on familiar pastures to aid Glenfin in the Ulster championship today.

Bonner is back to boost the An Gaeltacht Lár side in their Ulster quarter-final against Lurgan from Cavan (Pairc Taobhoige, 2pm).

Bonner had to miss last Sunday’s county final win over Moville as she was in Australia attending the CrossCoders trial, from which Giants Head Coach Alan McConnell selected her for next year.

Bonner is one of eight All-Star nominees from Donegal this year, following their winning of the Ulster SFC and having reached an All-Ireland semi-final.

After a week Down Under, Bonner will be back at the foot of Alt Na Paste this afternoon.

Bonner’s return gives Glenfin a massive lift ahead of their meeting with the Cavan champions.

With Bonner back to go alongside the in-form Karen Guthrie, Katy Herron and Anna Marie McGlynn, Glenfin will certainly fancy their chances of advancing to a semi-final.
