A 15-year-old boy is believed to be in a critical in hospital after he was hit by a truck on Friday night.
The collision, involving the young pedestrian and a truck, happened at around 6pm on Monday, October 15.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses following the serious crash on the M7 motorway northbound at Junction 17 near Portlaoise.
The teenager was seriously injured and taken to Tallaght Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition tonight, gardai said.
The male driver of the truck was uninjured.
