Carndonagh swept below-par Bonagee aside to advance to the next round of the Ulster Junior Cup.

On a chilly night at Dry Arch Park, Cade Cooke, Dermot Doherty, Lorcan Bradley and Christopher Diver hit the goals for the Inishown men, who had a more comfortable passage than they’d expected.
A cracking finish by Cooke put them on their way and Bonagee rarely threatened to get back into the game.
Bonagee arrived into this one unbeaten in their League season and the only blot on their copybook a penalty shootout loss to Milford in the Area final of the Brian McCormick Cup.
It was more the manner of their first defeat of the season that will have concerned Bonagee boss Damian McClafferty, though the absence of Darren Hunter, John Carr, Mark Hunter, John Carr, Eamonn Cannon and Paddy McGowan meant the home side were down several key bodies.
Bradley was first to try his luck, but the Carndonagh midfielder’s shot was dealt with by Slavek Chachowski in the home goal.
John D O’Kane’s Carn made the trip to Bonagee having claimed four points out of their first six games in the Jackie Crossan Premier Division.
The visitors had the lead in the 13th minute. Cooke was picked out in space on the right-hand side and, on the run, a super first-time shot found the far corner.

Fergal Doherty’s reflexes kept Lee McMonagle at bay as Bonagee sought a response.
Cooke drilled over the top before another McMonagle effort cause some panic. Aidan McLaughlin knocked down Drew Connolly’s centre and McMonagle flashed wide.
On the stroke of half-time, Carn doubled the lead. After Cooke’s initial attempt was blocked, Doherty steered in the rebound with Bonagee’s rearguard all at sea.
Glenn Gallagher and McMonagle were off target with chances to get Bonagee back in the game, but Carn added a third on 73 minutes to kill any ambitious notions the home team might have harboured at that point.
Cooke was again the architect. After dispossessing Jordan Rodgers, Cooke threaded through for Bradley, whose cool finish put the game beyond Bonagee’s reach.
For good measure, Diver hit a fourth, finishing well from 20 yards two minutes from the end.
Still, Carn didn’t let up and Brandon Browne invited a shot from Aaron McCarron in the dying moments, but his shot was too high.
The damage had long since been inflicted and Carn march into the draw.
