It was a proud day for the Donegal Down Syndrome office as their sensory garden was officially opened over the weekend.

Donegal Sportsperson of the year and three times Donegal rally champion, Manus Kelly was on hand to officially open the wonderful sensory garden on Letterkenny’s High Road.

Speaking at the event, Kelly said: “I am honoured to be asked here today, to such a fantastic project and well done to everyone who was involved.”

An Garda Siochana and the Fire Station provided memorable entertainment for members on the day.

The finished project now aims to offer their members a safe zone, one which is full of different activities so children of all abilities will find something to interest them.

The work was completed by the Community Hands at Donegal Local Development Company and association would like to thank everyone that contributed in any way.
