Mix it up with six weeks of fitness and fun at Pinehill Studios

Pinehill Studios are about to launch a ‘Be Kind To Your Mind’ Piloxing programme for adults on Monday 5th November 2018. Here, Rachel from Donegal Daily finds out what’s involved by joining a class at the Letterkenny studio:

It’s hard to think about anything else when you’re in a Piloxing class. The beats are blaring, your heart is racing and you’re thinking about the moves – you’re not thinking about emails, appointments, or everyday worries.

Piloxing is a non-stop dance-based exercise class that blends boxing with standing Pilates. You don’t have to be able to dance (I should know!), and if you’re moving at all, then you’re doing it right.

Piloxing has expanded into a number of different workouts. At Pinehill Studios on Mountain Top, they offer classes in Piloxing SSP, Piloxing Knockout and THE MIX by Piloxing.

Sarah-Marie McDevitt at Pinehill Studios has designed the perfect way for adults to mix and match weekly Piloxing classes over 6 weeks.

The new ‘Be Kind To Your Mind’ programme means that you pay for a block of one, two or unlimited classes per week and you can join any of the evening classes between Monday and Thursday.

In this way, people with busy lives and families can pop in on a day that suits and never miss their workout. If you go unlimited, the classes work out at just over €3 each.

Sarah-Marie explains: “I never promote my classes as being for weight loss. They are fun, inclusive, non-intimidating and non-competitive. When you are dancing you are switched off from everything else. This is your ‘me-time’ and it’s so important for your mental health.”

The classes may not be all about serious fitness, but they really pack a punch.

In regular Piloxing SSP and Knockout classes we wear 250g weighted gloves to build arm strength.

THE MIX is glove-free and all about the dancing. I joined this session last week for a taster.

THE MIX is the newest addition to the Piloxing world. It combines fast and slow-paced pop and hip-hop songs for a 45 minute class where your mind and body are completely engaged.

Most of all, Sarah-Marie makes it great craic and brings everyone together to let go and enjoy the music.

You’re guaranteed to leave a Piloxing class with a smile on your face, if not a little sweaty!

If you struggle to commit to a gym membership or to do a 1 hour workout on your own, then the  ‘Be Kind To Your Mind’ block of classes is a great option to ensure you’re keeping up with your exercise from now until before Christmas.

New classes begin Monday 5th November until December 13th. That’s just 6 weeks to embrace the fun, dedicate some me-time and feel great.

Be Kind To Your Mind costs per 6 week block:

1 class a week – €40
2 class a week – €70
Unlimited – €90

Available classes to choose from:

Mondays 8pm – THE MIX by Piloxing
Tuesdays 7pm – Piloxing SSP
Wednesdays 7pm – Piloxing Knockout
Thursdays 7pm – THE MIX by Piloxing

To secure your place now, all you have to do is call Pinehill Studios on 086 790 0554, email info@pinehillstudios.ie or check out www.facebook.com/pinehillstudioss

Piloxing classes are open to everyone each week, so if you want to try it before signing up to six weeks, just make an enquiry on www.pinehillstudios.ie and mention Donegal Daily or Donegal Woman.  You don’t need gloves on your first go, just relax, move and enjoy it.
