Raymond Shields threw his hat into the ring for the Donegal League Oscar Traynor job with good reason.

He’d watched the side over recent seasons and thought there was potential that needed unlocked.

A 24-man panel includes the newly-installed captain Kevin McHugh and it is a squad littered with experience as they prepare to face derby rivals Inishowen League on Saturday evening in Ballyare.

“We’re looking forward to it,” Shields said.

“Inishowen have been the benchmark for a few years now. I’m very passionate about the Oscar Traynor team. We want to achieve for the Donegal League.

“We’ve had a good response from players and they’re all in good shape. We’re close to what we need for Saturday. We have worked hard with the lads.”
