James Boyle scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Italy to seal 13th spot at the Amputee World Cup in Mexico.

The Donegal man was in excellent form in the World Cup for the Boys in Green.

Ireland qualified for the last 16, but lost out to Turkey 4-0 on Thursday night.

Ireland lost out to Kenya on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the first of their ranking games.

A double by Boyle earned Ireland a 2-0 win over Columba before the Dungloe man’s super hat-trick against Italy.

Boyle had scored twice in the 4-1 win over Uruguay at San Juan del Los Lagos and also netted in a 3-1 loss to the hosts, Mexico.
