James Bonner says the future is bright at Letterkenny Rovers – after they won the SFAI U16 Sketchers Cup final.

Goals by James Gallagher and Toby Akinyimika gave Rovers a 2-0 win over Carrick Rovers in the final at Leckview Park.

“It could have been more if we’d been more clinical, but we go out of here happy,” said Bonner after Rovers retained the Ulster title.

“Lads have good opportunities now to continue from U16 to U18 and into the seniors.

“The lads have a great foundation at the club and the future looks bright.”
