Trio of second-place finishes for Martin Harley at Lingfield

Martin Harley had three second-place finishes today at Lingfield.

The Trentagh man came agonisingly close to adding to his 78 wins so far in 2018.

In the 1.25pm race, Harley and the 5/1 shot Salateen, for trainer David O’Meara, were beaten by a nose by Breathless Times, the 6/4 favourite ridden by Adam McNamara.

Harley led 100 yards from the finish, but was, literally, pipped at the post.

In the Novice Stakes, Harley was second on Journey Of Life (5/2) with the 8/15 favourite, Red Impression, claiming the win.

In the Betway Handicap, Harley was also second, this time on the 11/8 favourite, Para Bio, for Seamus Durack.

The race was won by the 7/1 Settle Petal, under a good steer by Paddy Bradley.
