There are five nominees for this week’s Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub Sports Person of the Week, in association with O’Reilly’s – and it’s time for you to cast your vote.

Each weekly award winner will receive a kitbag, a jersey and a half-zip, supplied by O’Reilly’s.

The award winner will be chosen via a public vote from a shortlist selected by our panel.

O’Reilly’s Sportswear was founded in 2017 by well-known Twin Towns sporting brothers Steven and Martin O’Reilly.

BJ Banda (Letterkenny Rovers)

Letterkenny Rovers advanced to the last 16 of the FAI Intermediate Cup on Sunday thanks to a 5-1 win away to Pegasus/St James Athletic. Two of the goals for Eamon McConigley’s men were netted by the on-fire BJ Banda.

John Campbell (Buncrana and LyIT)

What a week it was for John Campbell. In last Wednesday’s HE Division 2 final, Campbell scored a late goal as Letterkenny Institute of Technology edged Dundalk. Campbell netted 2-2 for the Michael Murphy-managed LyIT.

Campbell repeated his trick on Sunday with a late goal as Buncrana overcame Naomh Brid to win promotion to Division 2 of the All-County League.

Connor Gormley (Milford)

In Saturday’s U21 B final replay, Milford edged out St Naul’s in a thriller in Ballybofey. Connor Gormley’s penalty, in the first minute of the second half, inspired a comeback from Milford, who trailed by five points at half-time. Gormley hit 1-2 and was in excellent form for the Moyle View men.

Padraig McGettigan (St Eunan’s)

St Eunan’s clinched a Minor League and Championship double on Saturday with a handsome 3-20 to 3-3 win over Four Masters in Glenfin. McGettigan netted two of the goals and ended with 2-5 to his name for Pauric Ryan’s team, who continued his excellent year in the black and amber.

Ann Marie McGlynn (Letterkenny AC)

Ann Marie McGlynn of Letterkenny AC won a silver medal in the National Senior Cross-Country Championships on Sunday in Abbotstown. McGlynn was pipped in the final 1km of the 8km race by Ciara Mageean, but McGlynn held on to her second spot and will go next weekend to the  Euroean Cross Country Championships in Tilburg.
