Temperatures dip for Turkey Scrambles at Otway Golf Club

Although we are getting into the mouth of winter, the Sunday Open Turkey Scrambles at Otway have not seen a drop of rain the last couple of weeks, but temperatures have certainly started to dip.

On Sunday 18th young Sidney Anderson Snr made it two weeks in a row, with the help of Peter and Philip Friel, and claimed victory with a magnificent score for a threeball of 11 under par.

Last Sunday, another Friel brother, Mark, brought his team a big step towards victory with his hole-in-one at the seventh, but they couldn’t quite catch the lucky foursome of Patsy Gallagher, Francis McFadden, Damian Gallagher and Martin O’Reilly, who done just enough on 8 under.

Patsy breathed a sigh of relief on winning his first turkey of 2018, and no longer has to depend on the festive generosity of brother Brendan, who had promised Patsy at least one wing of his bird on Christmas Day.

Open turkey scrambles continue this Sunday at Otway at the usual time of 12 noon tee off, with names in to the clubhouse before 11.45.
