Donegal Saturday League – Round-up as Strand, Kildrum sit on top

Strand Rovers hit the top of the Glencar Inn Saturday Division 1 while Kildrum maintained their good form in Division 2 – here’s a round-up of yesterday’s games.

Milford United Reserves 5 Cappry Rovers Reserves 1

Milford welcomed Cappry to Moyle View Park in wet and windy conditions.

Milford started strong and were one up after 15 minutes with Darren McLaughlin finding the bottom corner when played through one on one.

Five minutes later a Pauric Curley free kick into the box was met by Lorcan Friel’s head to make it 2-0.

On the half hour mark a corner from Milford found Ciaran Gibbons at the back post, his cross back in found the top corner.

On the stroke of half-time Cappry were awarded a penalty which Kyle O’Meara scored to make it 3-1 at the break.

The second half continued in the same fashion with Connor Meakin and Darren McLaughlin adding two more goals to make it 5-1 at full-time.

A team effort from Cappry and for Milford Darren McLaughlin was man of the match.

Fintown Harps AFC 1 Kildrum Tigers Reserves 2

On 15 minutes Kildrum went one up through Michael Lynch

Fintown tried hard but could not pull one back before half time.

Ten minutes into the second Michael Doherty found the net after a super pass from Karl McGlynn.

Fintown pushed hard for a second and were unlucky when a well worked move set up Christopher Mc Glynn who skimmed the outside of the post with his shot.

Kildrum found the net again via Daniel McNulty to make it 2-1.
