Shane Byrne is relishing the prospect of a last 16 tie in the FAI Junior Cup with Glengad United.

Glengad, quarter-finalists two years ago in this competition, are into the last 16 after a 4-0 win over Birr Town at The Crua yesterday.

Connor Barrow’s brace and goals from captain John Gerard McLaughlin and James McKinney sealed a comfortable win.

“The standard of teams you’ll meet will be really good,” Byrne told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub afterwards.

“It’s good to be involved and play better opposition. It improves players and improves teams. That performance won’t be good enough to take us into a quarter-final. It’s a work in progress, but we’ll be there or thereabouts.”
