The children in Gleneely National School have been very busy this week creating a video to wish Red Hughs good luck in their All Ireland semi-final on Sunday.

Gleneely NS has very close links with Red Hughs with many of their past pupils part of successful teams this year at underage and senior level.

There are a number of past pupils on the current Red Hughs senior team and their family members, who are still in Gleneely National School, created a special message for their brothers, cousins and uncle as part of this video.

“On Wednesday past we ditched our school colours in favour of red and black to create our good luck video,” Gleneely NS said.

“Children and staff got creative making banners, flags, posters and braids and along with all the red and black gathered at home our little school was alive with Red Hughs fever.

“We would also like to say a special congratulations to Calvin Bradley and Stephen McMenamin, past pupils, who picked up their Ulster GAA club All Stars in Monaghan recently.”
