There are big celebrations at Harvey’s Point today after the hotel received the title of TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice No. 1 Hotel in Ireland 2019.

The popular four star Swiss-Donegal residence on the shores of Lough Eske has proudly regained its top spot on the influential list of Ireland’s Top 25 hotels. It was also listed at No. 12 of the Best Hotels in Europe.

Having held the title for five consecutive years from 2013 to 2017, and being No 2 last year, it is a remarkable achievement for Harvey’s Point to return to the number one position once again.

Donegal is well-represented on the 2019 Travellers’ Choice award winners list, which was determined based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from TripAdvisor travellers worldwide.

Villa Rose Hotel in Ballybofey was ranked at No 11 and the Shandon Hotel & Spa Resort at Portnablagh came in at No 19.

The best B&Bs in the country were also revealed today, with Greencastle’s On the Rocks B&B earning fifth place. The modern seaside home, of Daniel & Majella’s B&B Road Trip fame, is the only Donegal B&B on the list.

The hallmarks of Travellers’ Choice winners are remarkable service, quality and value. The accolades are a testament to the hard-working staff of all hotels and B&Bs listed.

Harvey’s Point also features highly in other Travellers’ Choice categories such as Best Hotels in Ireland for Romance – No2, Best for Service – No 5.

Hotel director, Deirdre McGlone credited the awards to the hotel’s dedicated team, each of whom plays their part in the Harvey’s Point Success story.

“Words can hardly express the excitement and delight that we feel, having won No. 1 Hotel in Ireland on TripAdvisor for 2019,” she said.

Ms McGlone expressed the hotel management’s heartfelt thanks to their many guests who wrote so favourably of their experiences at Harvey’s Point.

“We are immensely proud of this great achievement, which encourages us to raise the bar even higher in delivering the highest possible standards of world class hotel-keeping blended with genuine Irish hospitality,” she added.
