Mickey McCann’s Donegal narrowly lost out to Kildare 2-16 to 1-13 at O’Donnell Park on Sunday in what was a thrilling game of hurling on the opening day of Allianz National Hurling League Division 2B.

Donegal Sport Hub’s Charlie Collins spoke to McCann following the game and the Donegal manager was disappointed to have not at least earned a draw from the game.

“We were right in it to the end there,” McCann said. “We had a goal chance there at the end with 15 minutes to go, when Ciaran Matthewson and Kevin Kealy combined and they just overcooked the pass a wee bit and they overturned it and got a score.”
