Picture special: Carndonagh GAA club host annual presentations

Carndonagh GAA held its annual presentation dance on Saturday 26th January in Tul-na-Ri.

Special guest for the evening was Derry footballer Brendan Rodgers and MC was Ray Lannon who spoke to Brendan about his home club Slaughtneil and what they have managed to achieve over the last number of years and the work involved in this.

Chairperson Joanne McKinney welcomed everyone to the presentation dance reminding us all on the importance of the GAA community and family.

She thanked all the different people that are involved with the club going through all the various activities that go on in Foden.

The rest of the night was spent dancing to the music of the Inch Ramblers who kept everyone on their feet and the floor packed for the evening.

The following individual awards were presented on the night: Scor Participants:Ava McDermott, Eimear Doherty, Atheena McLaughlin, Katie Mai Mooney & Cian Doherty;

County Representative Awards – Under 15 Football: Kyle Harkin; Under 15 Hurling: DJ O’Connor; Minor & Under 16 Camogie: Sadbh Mullan, Anais Doherty, Muireann Porter; Under 16 Camogie: Mary Kate McCrossan, Briana Tully, Eimear O’Donnell, Athena McLaughlin, Niamh Kelly, Erin McLaughllin; Under 16 Ladies Football: Anais Doherty; Under 17 Football: Anthony Doherty; Under 17 Hurling: Darragh McCormick; Minor Ladies Football: Cliona Gibbons; Under 20 Football: Conor O’Donnell; Under 21 Hurling: Cathal Doherty & James Monagle; Senior County Hurling: Padraig Doherty; Senior Ladies Football: Deirdre Foley & Treasa Doherty. Treasa was also presented with a special award from the club in recognition of her winning her All Star.

Team Awards given were the Minor Camogie team for winning the Championship & League; Minor Hurlers for winning the Championship and the Under 21C Football for being runners up in the Championship.

Individual Club Awards were Under 16 Camogie Most Improved: Briana Tully; Under 16 Camogie Player of the Year: Eimear O’Donnell; Under 16 Most Improved Hurler of the Year: DJ O’Connor; Under 16 Hurling Player of the Year: Conor Lafferty; Under 16 Ladies Football Most Improved: Mary Kate McCrossan; Under 16 Ladies Football Player of the Year: Elaine McLaughlin; Under 16 Football Most Improved: Josh Diver; Under 16 Football Player of the Year: Will Quinn; Minor Camogie Most Improved: Rori Doherty; Minor Camogie Player of the Year: Cliona Gibbons; Minor Ladies Football Most Improved: Anais Doherty; Minor Ladies Football Player of the Year: Cliona Gibbons; Minor Hurling Most Improved: Pauric O’Donnell; Minor Hurling Player of the Year: Cormac Monagle; Minor Football Most Improved: Cormac Monagle; Minor Football Player of the Year: Daniel McCallion; Under 21 Football Most Improved: Shaun McCreanor; Under 21 Football Player of the Year: Conor O’Donnell; Senior Most Improved Hurling Player of the Year: Shaun McCreanor; Senior Hurling Player of the Year: John O’Donnell; Senior Reserve Football Most Improved: Patrick Monagle; Senior Reserve Football Player of the Year: Ronan Donegan; Senior Ladies Football Most Improved: Bethany Moore; Senior Ladies Player of the Year: Tamara Duffy; Senior Men Football Most Improved: Dermott Doherty(M); Senior Mens Football Player of the Year: Conor O’Donnell; Club Executive Award: Caroline McLaughlin; Club Person of the Year Award: Liam McLaughlin.
