Maxi Curran insists his Donegal Ladies side should relish their opportunity to play at Croke Park on Saturday against Dublin (5pm, eir Sport).

The Donegal LGFA manager spoke to Donegal Daily’s Charlie Collins before his outfits Lidl National Football League opener.

He said: “I suppose some would say that we are in at the deep end all right but, it is a very attractive start at the same time.

“Some footballers play their Gaelic football their whole life and never get a chance to play at Croke Park,” he added. “It’s nice for our girls to get the chance to play at any stage.

“To play the All-Ireland champions at Croke Park, live on TV, is a lovely occasion and it’s one that everyone is looking forward to.”
