Coláiste Ailigh to face Thornhill in Ulster final tomorrow

Coláiste Ailigh face Thornhill College, Derry in the Ulster Ladies U20 Post Primary Schools final tomorrow.

The game (throw-in 12 noon) is at the Melvin Sports Complex, Strabane.

Both teams have already met in the group stages of the competition. There was only a kick of the ball between the teams back in November when Coláiste Ailigh eked out a 4-7 to 3-8 victory in a terrific game of football in Letterkenny.

Another cracker is expected in the final.

Coláiste Ailigh overcame St. Genevieve’s Belfast after a replay in the Ulster Quarter final, beating them 6-7 to 3-5 in Owenbeg.

They had a big victory against Loreto Cavan a few weeks ago beating them in the Ulster Semi-Final 8-3 to 1-4.

Aoife Ní Chearáin helped the Coláiste Ailigh cause by scoring a hat-trick and Laoise Ní Riain went one better and scored four goals in a great victory in Dromore.

Thornhill have been ruthless in the latter stages and put Dean Maguirc College Carrickmore to the sword in the Semi-Final with a scoreline of 7-8 to 0-3 so there will be nothing easy in Strabane on Monday for the Coláiste Ailigh girls.

Coláiste Ailigh panel: Aobha Ní Aragáin ( Gleann tSuilí),  Aoibhinn Ní Chonaill (Na Dunaibh),  Aoife Ní Chearáin (Naomh Adhamhnáin), Shannon Ní Chuinneagáin (Naomh Adhamhnáin), Caoimhe Ní Dhochartaigh (Gleann tSuili), Shauna Ní Uiginn (Naomh Adhamhnáin), Soracha Ni Threartaigh (An Tearmann), Charlie Ní Shibhleáin (Na Dúnaibh), Gráinne Ní Earcáin (Naomh Adhamhnáin),  Áine Ní Fhlannagáin (Naomh Adhamhnáin), Aobha Pasoma (Na Dúnaibh), Iseult Ní Mhathúna (Gaeil Fhánáda), Muireann Ní Mhathúna (Gaeil Fhánáda), Orla Ní Chearáin (Naomh Adhamhnáin),  Laoise Ní Riain (Naomh Adhamhnáin), Andrea Ni Chutliffe (Gaeil Leitir Ceanainn), Clodagh Ni Conchúir (Gaeil Leitir Ceanainn), Siúbhan Ní Dhomhnaill (Naomh Adhamhnain), Annie Nic Giolla Iontóg (Naomh Adhamhnain), Sinéad Nic A’tSaoir (Naomh Adhamhnain), Maoiliosa Ní Thuathail (An Tearmann), Clodagh Ní Shíoráin (Naomh Colmcille).
