Donegal volunteers sought to help pack for heart health on St Valentine’s Day

The Irish Heart Foundation (IHF) is seeking volunteers in Letterkenny to help pack bags in Dunnes Stores as part of its annual Show Some Heart campaign on February 14th.

Volunteers are crucial to the ongoing campaign work involved with Donegal stroke support group, Different Strokes, Different Folks.

Money raised from Show Some Heart will go towards the IHF programmes such as CPR training, free blood pressure checks in the IHF mobile health unit and stroke survivors groups.

Larry Materson, Show Some Heart Coordinator Donegal, said: “The Irish Heart Foundation wanted Different Strokes, Different Folks to coordinate a national bag packing event that is going to take place in Dunne Stores, Letterkenny.

“The reason why the heart foundation does this is that they rely on peoples generosity and public money.

“It is an important issue and we will be there to raise awareness and we will be there to put the Irish Heart Foundation out in the open in Letterkenny.”

Materson urged the Donegal public to come along and volunteer to help raise funds to support the group’s vital work.

You can find out more information on the event on Different Strokes, Different Folks Facebook page.
