Anger as picnic area in Dunfanaghy vandalised

There is anger in the community in Dunfanaghy after the local picnic area was attacked by vandals.

The attack is understood to have happened in December but was only reported to Gardai now.

A Garda spokesman said “As can be seen in the pictures attached, damage was caused to the picnic area on the scenic Horn Head.

“These stone picnic spots were funded by the local Dunfanaghy Tidy Towns Committee and built by volunteers. It is unfortunate that someone or a group of people decided to destroy it.

“Somebody knows something about this and we want to hear from you, we urge anyone with information to contact either Dunfanaghy Gardai or the District Garda HQ at Milford.”
