The Swilly Seals swimming club sealed the Ulster Provincial Towns League Division Two title with a grand slam victory over Portadown.

Having had a very strong season leading up to the final gala V Portadown.  The Seals swimmers knew they had to put up a massive performance against this strong Co Armagh team.

Portadown had also won all their fixtures on the run-up to this final meet of the P.T.L season.

The seals travelled prepared for this meet having worked on swimming the extra race distance as the Portadown facility host’s a 33-metre pool meaning swimmers had to race over 66 and 132 metres as opposed to the normal 50 and 100 metres associated with this competition.

Both clubs put on a mighty performance with a brilliant atmosphere throughout the evening. Scoring was close at the halfway point but after 56 races the seal swimmers managed to put a 62 point margin between the clubs.

The club wishes to thank all parents, committee and coaches who helped throughout the season. A massive congratulations to the swimmers who were hugely impressive in the competition and worked extremely hard for the title.

Results through the season as follows.

Swilly Seals 598 Cookstown 546

Swilly Seals 628 Dungannon 518

Swilly Seals 650 Downpatrick 494

Swilly Seals 591 Coleraine 553.

Swilly Seals 603 Portadown 541
